RVB+A conducted a detailed assessment of commuter rail services in Santiago, Chile, including equipment conditions, infrastructure, market demand and financial issues. RVB+A's conclusions and recommendations were compiled and incorporated in a Request for Proposals package for release to international bidders.

In Thailand, RVB+A conducted a detailed evaluation of two railway projects involving freight and passenger services. The effort included review of technical and economic conditions and requirements, including conceptual development of rolling stock equipment and related systems.

In a separate mission regarding Thailand, RVB+A conducted a feasibility study for the privatization of rail rolling stock maintenance services. The study involved market demand, technical, financial, commercial, legal, institutional and environmental issues.

Since 1985, RVB+A has undertaken 15 transportation related definitional missions and feasibility studies under contract with USTDA. Subject countries regarding a variety of scopes have included Mexico, Chile, The Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
